Bambu, ageing with pain. Male cat, castrated, 14YO

Main complaint from owner: very quiet, not moving as he used to. Struggling with hind legs; sometimes collapsing on them. Some osteoarthritis diagnosed by his conventional vet. We treated Bambu with dry needles and laser.

Pain is probably the main reason that pet owners try acupuncture. It works so well.

In this case Bambu, is sore and tired because of age and condition, wich is completely normal. But his owner wants to do everything possible to try to help him have the best quality of life.

Every 2 weeks (approx.) I will go to his house and spend half an hour massaging him, doing laser and using dry tiny needles. He complains a little to start with and then relaxes and let falls asleep.

With oldies we must be careful with the time we leave the needles in because they can become slightly addicted to the feeling and it can actually be too much for them.

After the treatment Bambu is quiet and tired during the rest of the day but next morning… he is a different cat and is full of energy for around 10-12 days. Then he goes back to sleeping more, not moving as much so then we know it is time for his next session.

I do laser therapy around the BL, GV and KD channel to start with and then based on the diagnosis of the day more specific points.

There is one point which I will always use with pain cases BL60, called the aspirin point for a reason. If you make it transpositional you will touch KD3 too and double the effect!

We have just started with an injection of Solensia to try to and help him even more and the results are good for now.
